Hydrating Essence

The official term for this product is Hydrosol, and it is often considered to be a byproduct (or waste stream) of the essential oil distillation industry.  When a botanical is distilled, the resultant product is a combination of both hydrosol as well as essential oil.  When this mixture cools, the essential oil will rise to the top and can be extracted.  The remaining floral-infused waters contain identical aromatherapeutic and otherwise medicinal benefits, albeit in less concentrated amounts as their essential oil counterparts.

Unlike essential oils, which can be too harsh and volatile for many people’s skin, hydrosols are safe to enjoy liberally, misting generously on your entire face and body as an excellent method for hydrating the skin.  And all of ours are grown, picked, and distilled by hand, right on the farm.
